GTA V Debuts Spring 2013
Rockstar have today officially announced that Grand Theft Auto V would be released in spring 2013, also finally confirming that it would be released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Although this isn't new because of the recent leaks, we thought that we would post this here anyway due to the fact that the "leaks" from this week are officially confirmed to be real by Rockstar themselves.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean.

Starting next week November 5, 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will become available for pre-order everywhere and fans can expect a host of new information to become available in November.

Rockstar have stated that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is not a focus at this time.

Update and Screens - Max Payne 3 Hostage Negotiation Pack DLC
Coming this fall, the Hostage Negotiation Map Pack DLC for Max Payne 3 will bring four new multiplayer maps into the fold - all specially designed for online action - along with a range of new Items and weapons plus the Filhos De Ogum avatar faction. The Club Moderno and Estádio Do Galatians maps are being designed to deliver intense nightclub and stadium shootouts reminiscent of Max's earlier dust-ups with some of São Paulo's most dangerous elements like the Comando Sombra and the Crachá Preto.
 
Meanwhile, the O Palácio Strip Club and Favela Heights maps introduce to multiplayer all new, highly detailed favela territories from Max's descent into the gang-infested neighborhoods of the city.

The Hostage Negotiation Pack will also include two new weapons: the M24 Sniper Rifle and the IA2 Assault Rifle, the new Explosive Burst for explosive booby traps, the Bomb Suit item to protect against explosive damage and the Intimidation Mask item to cause slower reload times for your enemies.
 
The pack will be available later this fall for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $9.99 on PlayStation Network and PC (Rockstar Pass owners of course will receive it, and all other future packs, free of charge).

Along with this, three new screenshots from the Hostage Negotiation Pack have also been released.

Is Our World Actually a Simulation? GTA and Dev Secrets of the Universe
An article has recently been posted on the Rockstar Games Newswire, which mentions NASA comparing our world to that of a video game such as Grand Theft Auto IV.

"The natural world behaves exactly the same way as the environment of Grand Theft Auto IV. In the game, you can explore Liberty City seamlessly in phenomenal detail. I made a calculation of how big that city is, and it turns out it’s a million times larger than my PlayStation 3. You see exactly what you need to see of Liberty City when you need to see it, abbreviating the entire game universe into the console. The universe behaves in the exact same way. In quantum mechanics, particles do not have a definite state unless they’re being observed. Many theorists have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how you explain this. One explanation is that we’re living within a simulation, seeing what we need to see when we need to see it."  --NASA Scientist Rich Terrile

It is therefore theorised that a video game could hold the secrets to the universe. Is our world simply a simulation, being played out as a video game by some advanced beings; much like we play video games ourselves? It is definitely an interesting concept to think about.

The Max Payne 3 Local Justice trailer can be watched above. The Local Justice Pack for Max Payne 3 will be launched on July 3 (July 17 for PC players) on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace and will feature new maps for Max Payne 3's multiplayer, new weapons, new items, a new multiplayer faction and more.

Max Payne 3 Local Justice DLC Pack Coming July 3rd - First Screenshots
Rockstar have today announced the release date of the first downloadable content pack for Max Payne 3; Local Justice, which will be released on the 3rd of July. The pack will include the following:
  • 55th Battalion HQ map for all game modes 
  • The Imperial Palace and Departure Lounge maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer 
  • Light Fingers Item for faster looting 
  • M4 Assault Rifle with attachments São Paulo Police Faction with related avatar customization options
In a special deal, the Local Justice pack will be available for a discounted price of 480 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360, and for $5.99 on the Playstation 3 and PC. After this launch week, the pack will return to its normal price of 640 Microsoft Points or $7.99.

On the other hand, if you have purchased the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass you will receive this pack free of charge. The Rockstar Pass can be purchased from here for 2400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360, or for $29.99 on the Playstation 3 and PC.

Max Payne Mobile is available on Android devices as of today and can be bought at a low-low price of $2.99 at the Android Marketplace.

To refresh your memory; Max Payne Mobile is the original Max Payne game optimised and remastered for mobile devices. You can now download the official Max Payne 3 soundtrack from iTunes.

The Max Payne 3 Official Soundtrack is composed by the American noise-rock band Health; a band who has gotten much critical acclaim for its asymmetrical sound from music press and fans alike. The Max Payne 3 soundtrack is a dark and driving sound-scape that fits the whole theme and style of Max Payne 3.

Max Payne 3 Launches


Max Payne 3 has officially launched in North America, Europe and Australia, with the game being released this Friday/Saturday in Europe and Australia, and a few days earlier in North America. Be on the lookout for further news and developments relating to Max Payne 3 over the coming months.
